Creating healthy, safe and considerate working environments
In 2019 three of our site managers were highly commended by the NHBC Health and Safety awards and one further site manager also received a commendation. The awards provide rigorous independent assessment of our sites and ultimately recognise excellence on site.
Our ever popular 'Buster' and 'Buddy' mascots visit primary schools near to our sites, communicating about the dangers of construction sites. A serious message delivered in a fun way. We also support Working Well Together Groups in communities where we build, sharing health and safety knowledge, best practice and skills with a variety of local organisations and businesses.
We are an active member of the Home Builder Federation's health and safety forum, promoting continual improvements in health & safety practices and performance within the construction industry.
Redrow is providing health screening to all employees and sub-contractors working on our sites, as part of our wellbeing approach. A Health Kiosk is set up on site which provides people with the ability to take health and lifestyle checks securely and in confidence.
We are proud to be corporate partners in the Considerate Constructors Scheme and are committed to signing up all of our construction sites to be independently assessed as part of the programme. More information is available on the Considerate Constructors scheme website www.ccscheme.org.uk
Redrow runs and supports a great number of local community projects:
- Redrow volunteers worked with Keep Wales Tidy on a community project to clean up the River Taff.
- Redrow financially supports 'Woodford Community' fund in Cheshire which helps with projects such as regeneration of a local park and play equipment.
- Redrow helped North East Wales Wildlife Trust in planting 1000 trees which will form a local wildlife corridor.
