As Design Manager I am involved in every stage of the development process; from the initial assessment of land, through the planning and construction processes and right up to the last customer moving in. I am responsible for overseeing the design of our developments to ensure we are delivering places where people want to live and managing their progress through the planning process. I am also responsible for managing the day-to-day design tasks of current sites to ensure we are producing the best schemes we can. My job role is fast paced and involves a lot of problem solving. It is extremely rewarding to see your hard work, which can sometimes be years in the making, eventually being built and seeing the great places we create.

Chris Peatfield – Design Manager

I began my working adventure here at Redrow Homes Midlands in November 2018.  Prior to this job I worked for Bloor Homes Head Office in Measham, where I have spent the past 7.5 years. I undertook my Post-graduate Joint Honours Degree in Architectural Design & Property Development at Derby University on a Day-Release programme.  I started there as a Trainee Architectural Technician and have developed my interest in Planning and designing Layouts, where after my studies I was moved to the Planning Department. 

After 7.5 years there I took a leap of faith and after a successful interview I joined Redrow Homes Midlands as a Layout Designer.  From day one I have truly enjoyed learning about how Redrow work, what an amazing Product we produce and also how Redrow plot and design their sites.  Each day I enhance my ability to produce a good layout design, which is an on-going learning curve with great support from my Technical Director.  It is really enjoyable to see when the final product that I have designed and worked hard on manages to go through Planning or have won a bid.  I hope I will keep progressing well and making my division proud of the work I produce.
