History
Hospital use of the site can be traced back to the 1920s, when Frenchay Park House was acquired by the Corporation of Bristol for use initially as a tuberculosis (TB) hospital for children.
During the second world war it was used as an army hospital for American troops and post-war was developed and expanded under the NHS. It even secured a visit from legendary crooner Frank Sinatra in 1953 – a fact reflected
in one of the street names at Redrow’s development, Sinatra Way!
